ANSALDO, L&T IN RACE FOR EPC CONTRACT OF TICAPCO PROJECT
Article Abstract:
Ansaldo and L&T are among the top 4 companies competing for the engineering and procurement contract (EPC) for the Tipcapco power project of BSES Ltd. The other companies in the race include Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and Hanjung South Korea. BSES Ltd has identified 17 companies for its 250 mw lignite-based power project coming up at Srimushnam in Tamil Nadu. It is now considering the price bids of the short-listed companies. It will be announcing the EPC contractor by the end of January 1999. The proposed project is likely to start its operations during the first quarter of 2002 AD. (ag)

VXL, ZEE TEAM UP FOR NET CONNECTIONS VIA CABLE

VXL Instruments has signed a memorandum of understanding with Zee Telefilms Ltd, under which, VXL will help Siti Cable, a part of the Zee group, to provide Internet connections through cable network. VXL will provide Siti Cable with remote access and operating support along with technical consultancy. VXL will provide Winlinx Pro, which when connected to television, will provide Internet access through cable network. (khr)
