Kothari Safe Deposits Ltd of Chennai belonging to the AC Kothari Group has achieved a net profit of Rs18.12 lakh for 1997-98. This is a 46.87 percent decline over Rs38.66 lakh recorded in 1996-97. The total income was at Rs2.64 crore (Rs2.33 crore in 1996-97). The board has recommended a dividend of 15 percent for 1997-98 (25 percent). Non performing assets of the company are worth Rs13.20 lakh. Reserves have gone up to Rs1.53 crore (Rs1.46 crore). (uh)
