Kazakh oil firm draws Western interest

Article Abstract:

Industry observers believe Kazakhstan's MangistauMunaiGaz may be an attractive target for Western investors, with possible and proven oil reserves of 500 mil barrels and anticipated production of 130,000 barrels per day for 2007. Bids could total $4 bil. However, ownership complications and the role of the state in sales may deter some investors.
