LVMH sales gain, deals in sector boosts stock 3.7%

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA saw its share value rise by 3.7% as a result of increased sales and a series of deals in the luxury products industry. LVMH's share value ended at 299 euros. This represented an improvement of 10.60 euros. During the January to September period in 1999, LVMH said that its sales increased 21% to 5.73 billion euros.

Remy makes China plans as bid speculation swirls

Article Abstract:

Remy Cointreau of France is growing its international market with increased distribution plans over the next two years in China. The cognac and champagne-maker posted first half net profit of 75.7 million Euros ($100.2 million) an increase by 76 percent from 42.9 million Euros last year. Remy Cointreau may be ripe for a takeover bid.

Once a luxury export, sales of rose champagne have climbed to greater than seven percent market share. Exports for the first three quarters of 2006 are up 37 percent from last year.
