Article Abstract:

On 25 June 1998, the Walloon minister Michel Lebrun announced that SRIW would take 13% of the company which will manage the future regional Intranet network, WIN. The Cr dit Communal and SMAP companies are expected to take 6% each. The future company will manage WIN under the supervision of Belgacom. That same day, a draft bill was adopted to set up a new telecoms agency in the Walloon region. The public entity's missions will include expertise (with the possibility of supplying paying services) and control of such projects as WIN. It will also be able to issue recommendations and set up a showcase for new technology in communication and telecoms. The entity will not be allowed to incur loans, and its yearly budget will reach BFr 105mn.

Interbrew soutenu par les actionnaires de Grolsch

Article Abstract:

Although the Board of Grolsch has firmly rejected the bid presented by Interbrew to take over the Dutch brewer, the Belgian firm has received unexpected support. The Groen family, which controls 40% of Grolsch, and an unnamed bank, which clients control 20% in the Dutch brewer, have declared to a Dutch newspaper that they support Interbrew's offer. Interbrew, which has offered Fl 70 per share, would invest Fl 1bn to take the control of Grolsch.
