Late check-in on trial

Article Abstract:

Britis Airways (BA) is testing a process that could speed up the airline's service to late check-in passengers. In the airline's trial at London Heathrow Airport, BA staff check-in passengers caught in the late check-in queue using a remote hand-held device, which is a pocket PC with wireless LAN. Hence, passengers only have to proceed to the check-in desk to drop off their luggage and collect their boarding card.
