Leading firms are using Net to publish annual reports

Article Abstract:

The desire to analyse information and find out more about their customers is encouraging more companies to take control of their own websites, rather than using a third party, according to a survey by Company Annual Report On-Line Service (Carol). The information can be used to build closer relationships with customers. In addition, Carol reports that leading companies are increasingly publishing their Annual Reports and other financial information on the Internet, with over 80 of the FTSE 100 now doing so, up from 29 a year ago. However, companies outside the communications and information technology sectors have been the slowest to make this move.

UK: IFAs expect to increase online business

Article Abstract:

UK independent financial advisers (IFAs) predict that the majority of business with consumers will be conducted over the Internet by 2005, according to a BT Finance Industry Solutions report. The focus is now on technology, rather than compliance and regulation, according to the report. Service would be improved with more personal, more frequent contact with customers. Confidence in the Internet and email is increasing, and ebusiness should radically change the financial services industry, according to IFAs.
