Lee regrets Malaysia slur

Article Abstract:

Malaysia is protesting the haphazard remarks made by Singaporean Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew regarding the state of the city of Johor Bahri as 'notorious for shootings, muggings and car-jackings.' Singapore and Malaysia have had a long-standing grudge against each other, which started with Singapore's ejection from the Malaysian Confederation in 1963. The remarks by Lee Kuan Yew against Johor was precipitated by the presence of Singaporean opposition politician Tang Liang Hong in the city. Lee and Tang have been at odds with each other since Tang initiated a divisiveness among multiracial Singapore.
