Legend, GigaByte venture

Article Abstract:

Legend Holdings Ltd. of China and Giga-Byte Technology Co. of Taiwan have formed the world's third-largest motherboard manufacturing venture, which will run the firms' plants in China, which are valued at HK$250 million (US$32 million). Each company will own 50% of the new, unnamed, venture, which will benefit from economies of scale. Giga-Byte has an 8% market share, and will continue to operate plants that it owns outside of China.

Motherboards of necessity

Technology stocks appear to be rising in Asia, and fund managers are cautiously optimistic. Although computer orders may not recover immediately and the U.S. economy will continue to affect stock prices, investors are starting to turn toward motherboard companies and others in the technology sector.

Investors need good timing, selective nature for cyclicals

Article Abstract:

Cyclical stocks that are economically sensitive are thought to be a good buy now, when the economy is struggling. Investors are encouraged to buy stocks after they have fallen to book value, and before the economy starts to recover.
