Lernout and Hauspie to reorganize

Lernout and Hauspie Speech Products NV has reacted to stockholder concerns regarding its business practices. The Belgian software company has decided to reduce its interests in two venture capital funds. Analysts had complained that close business relationships with the funds made it difficult to predict the financial integrity of Lernout and Hauspie.

Sanjay Kumar, the former chief executive of Computer Associates International Inc. was indicted on charges of obstruction and securities fraud. The charges stemmed from an investigation of accounting irregularities, including the backdating of contracts to meet financial projections.
