Less customers, more proceeds

Article Abstract:

Peguform Bohemia (PB) (Liberec, Czech Republic), plastic car parts company, expects a decline in proceeds. Its proceeds should drop from 178 mil DEM in the fiscal year 1997/1998, from 01 October 1997 to 30 September 1998, to about 149 mil DEM in 1998/1999. The cause will not be a decline in the number of products but a decrease in the price of painted plastic parts. In April 1999, PB will commisison a new buffer paint shop, in which it has invested 600 mil Kc together with the car company Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic). At present PB has seven customers compared to about 1,400 in 1993-1994, six of them being from the automotive industry. These seven customers generate 97% of PB's proceeds. The rest is covered by television painting for Panasonic (Japan). Despite the decline in the number of customers, PB has raised its turnover from 1.1 bil Kc per year in 1993-1994 to the current 3 bil Kc per year.
