Let there be Lightscape

Article Abstract:

Lightscape 3.2 is better than the previous computer-aided design software products from AutoDesk although the radiosity could be improved as it requires raytracing to produce highlights and reflections. The software still requires some expertise to use but the results are very satisfactory. MAX and VIZ users will find Lightscape 3.2 the best option as a rendering application. The software works particular well with Autodesk's other modelling applications. It costs some 595 pounds sterling.

The troubled Asian cement industry has been roiled by the financial collapse of Daido Concrete Company Ltd., the second largest distributor of concrete in Japan. However, the interest of foreign cement firms in the region may be a sign that its fortunes will wax in the future. The Mexican cement firm Cemex and the Swiss cement firm Holderbank are making moves in the region. Cemex already acquired a 30% ownership stake in the small Philippine cement maker Rizal Cement.
