Article Abstract:

British manufacturers forecast rising orders and economic prosperity in the long term. The industrial Midlands of Britain however, have been hit hard by the recession. Increased investments, fewer strikes, European economic unity, and lower labor costs will contribute to the upturn.

A brave face: British banks

Article Abstract:

The British banking industry hoped that emergence from the recession would allow for partial recovery from many bad loans. The recession has lingered though, and demand for new loans has not picked up the slack. The outlook for the next few years is not good.
