Lot-sizing algorithm for a coordinated multi-item, multi-source distribution problem

Article Abstract:

A model for the determination of optimal lot-sizes for multiple items involving several retailers and warehouses is presented. The model assumes that referral demands for items are constant, continuous and predictable. A fixed set-up cost is incurred by each production/warehouse facility and any canceled stock entails higher holding costs. A product-based replenishment policy where cost is less than 2% above the cost of all feasible policies is formulated.

Modelling and simulation of a supply chain in an uncertain environment

Article Abstract:

Fuzzy modelling and simulation of a supply chain (SC) in an uncertain environment involves consideration of SC fuzzy models and the SC simulator. Consideration of such permits the study of dynamic behavior of a serial SC in an uncertain environment. Under the SC simulator, a dynamic view of the SC is attained and the influence of decisions proposed by the SC fuzzy models on SC performance is evaluated.
