Magneton's economy

Article Abstract:

Magneton (Kromeriz, Czech Republic), automotive accessory manufacturer, will supply starters and alternators worth CEK 44 mil to the agricultural equipment manufacturer John Deere (US) in 2001. The multinational firm Delphi will take products worth CEK 10 mil from Magneton in 2001. According to preliminary results, Magneton saw proceeds of CEK 900 mil and an operating profit of more than CEK 20 mil in 2000. CEK 680 mil of the firm's proceeds were generated by automotive accessory production in 2000, 5% more compared to 1999. Exports, mainly to France, the UK, Germany, Poland, Austria, Bulgaria and Slovakia, represented 32% of the 2000 proceeds. Magneton's main consumer is Skoda Auto (Czech Republic).

Matsushita will invest in Pardubice

Article Abstract:

Matsushita (Japan), electrical engineering firm, will invest CEK 3.3 bil in the construction of a new plant in the industrial zone in Pardubice, Czech Republic. The plant, which will produce Panasonic car audio-sets and mobile telephones, will have 1,100 employees. It should produce 2.4 mil mobile telephones during the first year of its operation and 16 mil pieces during the next year.

Koito Czech will invest in the extension of its production

Article Abstract:

Koito Czech (Cestlice, Czech Republic), automotive component manufacturer, will invest CEK 2.6 bil in its new production plant in Zatec, the Czech Republic, from 2001. The firm has received an investment incentive up to CEK 809.5 mil for the investment. A total of 340 new jobs should be set up at the plant in Zatec within five years.
