It has been predicted the UK market for colour cosmetics and make-up, in 2001, will be valued at 563.1 million pounds sterling, at 1996 prices. Sales of eye make-up are forecasted to increase by 9%, during 1996-2001. Some 523.5 million pounds sterling was spent on colour cosmetics and make-up, in the UK, during 1996. Boots The Chemist had toiletries and cosmetics sales worth 3,108 million pounds sterling, in 1996. Boots is the main UK retailer of these goods. The leading UK wholesaler was NISA-Today, with a turnover of 10,000 million pounds sterling, in 1996.
