Malcolm Marshall

Article Abstract:

Malcolm Marshall was a Caribbean fast bowler who was able to bridge political divides in the world of cricket. He refused to compromise his ideals by playing in South Africa in the age of apartheid, yet did not criticize those who did, since he was under less financial pressure than some, being unmarried and young. His main loyalty was to the Barbados team, and he saw cricket as playing a major role in the society of Barbados, affecting women as well as men.
