Jardine Fleming chief sets plan to form centralized trading desk

Article Abstract:

New Jardine Fleming Investment Management (JFIM) CEO Mark White plans to establish a new centralized dealing desk and to hire more staff for administrative functions. In a recent interview, White stated that JFIM's rapid growth in recent years has necessitated the improvement in the company's administration. He also stated that JFIM needs to bolster its management to cope with its larger scale.

Thornton's Asian infrastructure fund looks to build on growth in the region

Article Abstract:

Thornton Management (Asia) Ltd.'s Asian Infrastructure Investment Trust is one of the most successful of the so-called concept funds. The fund's manager, Pernille Svensson, believes that there are many challenges to managing a fund which puts money only in stocks which follow a certain theme. Svensson's current preferred markets are Thailand and the Philippines.
