The management buyout of Pilkington's Tiles, the leading UK producer of unglazed floor tiles, was part of a larger programme of disposals at BTR, which has been undertaking extensive rationalisation over recent years following many purchases in the 1980s. A tale of happy coincidences ...

Article Abstract:

ADS Anker, the largest independent supplier of electronic point of sale systems and solutions in Europe, was owned by BTR before a management buy-in was undertaken. European Acquisition Capital, which managed the deal, worked closely with BTR, as ADS Anker did not have the structure to operate independently. The deal proved complicated, but was eventually settled to the satisfaction of both sides.
