Marksman hits target

Article Abstract:

British information services provider Datastream has introduced its Windows-based Datastream Marksman online database that lists information about 430,000 private and public European companies. The new service, which provides coverage on companies with an annual turnover of more than 1 million pounds sterling, is aimed at investment banks and those involved in the M&A business. The system offers reports from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy. Scandinavian coverage should be available by mid-1995.

EU competition authorities review online service providers

Article Abstract:

The Europe Online new media venture being investigated by the European Commission is losing one of its founder members, French publisher Matra-Hachette Multimedia. The service is set for launch at the beginning of 1996, but is being investigated to ensure that it does not break antitrust rules. Other members of the joint venture include Germany's Burdel and Axel Springer Verlag, and the UK's Pearson.

Why Gaylor is top media target

Article Abstract:

Gaylord Entertainment Co has seen is share price rise following speculation that it may soon be sold. However the price is high and many suitors may be put off by the company's contract with Westinghouse Electric. Gaylor has already negotiated with potential buyers, who withdrew, but it is believed that the company could sell for as much as $3.3 billion.
