Xerox's net falls but CEO declares turnaround done

Xerox Corp. posted a fall of 1% in its profits for the 2003 second quarter. However, the company's chief executive, Anne Mulcahy, said that the company has completed its turnaround strategy.

Marsh faces hurdles to regain investor trust as it confronts additional set of allegations

Insurance company Marsh and McLennan Companies Inc., and its mutual fund subsidiary Putnam Investments Inc. are struggling to recover from cases brought against them by New York state Attorney General Elliot Spitzer. In addition to charges of market timing and bid-rigging, the companies may be facing investigations into potential conflicts of interest in their retirement planning and investment consulting operations.
