McDonald's net misses analysts' mark

McDonald's Corp. posted a 40% improvement in its net income to $486.2 million (485.4 million euros) for the 1999 fourth-quarter. The company blamed global inflation and economic problems for the lower-than-expected figures.

McDonald's net rises, but not its stock

Article Abstract:

McDonald's Corp. posted an improvement of 11% in its earnings for the first quarter of 1999. However, investors showed a lack of confidence in the company as a result of economic troubles in Brazil and Russia. McDonald's posted $402.7 million in net income for the quarter. During the same period in 1998, the company posted $362.2 million. McDonald's revenue increased by approximately 8% to $3.04 billion.
