McGovern back 'home' at BBDO

Article Abstract:

Michael McGovern has been appointed as Exec VP and Creative Director of BBDO Response of Toronto, Ontario. McGovern was the former creative director of San Francisco-based Yates Advertising and also held a similar position in Toronto's FCB Direct from 1992 to 1999. McGovern said he felt honored as BBDO's replacement for Fransi Weinstein's, who has been credited with inventing direct marketing in Canada. He will be responsible for supervising the creative output at the DM division of BBDO Response and for integrating the division with other divisions at the agency.

Hirsch heads Proximity Vancouver

Article Abstract:

Raquel Hirsch has been designated Senior VP and managing director of Proximity Canada's Vancouver office. The facility was established in late Mar 2001, after merging with BBDO's interactive arm, Tinderbox. Sarah Simpson, president of Proximity Canada, said they chose Hirsch because of her background in direct, database and CRM marketing. She is an MBA graduate of the University of British Columbia, and has 15 years' direct marketing experience with companies, such as Pivotal Corp, Rogers Video and the British Columbia Automobile Assn.
