Disney cuts chairman's bonus to zero; company says net income goal wasn't met

Article Abstract:

Michael D. Eisner was denied his annual bonus for fiscal 1999 and the cover stock of Walt Disney Co.'s annual report is lighter for cheaper mailing costs to investors. The company needs to remain focused on cost-cutting and returning to a 'growth track.' The only other year Eisner didn't get a bonus since 1984 was in 1993. In 1995 his bonus was $8 million plus almost $6 million in stock; in 1997 he received a bonus of $9.9 million and in 1998 it was $5 million.
