Mercedes retools E-Class

Daimler-Benz AG is upgrading its E-class Mercedes model to revive growth in sales. A completely new version with external changes, safety features and technical upgrades will be available by 2008 or 2009. The E-class is the second best selling Mercedes model.

Europe car registrations rise for BMW, Daimler

Article Abstract:

European new-car registrations increased in May 2007 for DaimlerChrysler AG and BMW AG despite a drop of 1.6% for overall registrations to 1.44 mil cars. DaimlerChrysler posted a 2.4% increase to 89,094 cars, while BMW reported a 5.6% increase to 79,708.

Scania rejects bid from MAN

Scania AB has rejected a takeover bid by MAN AG. In a bid to form Europe's largest commercial vehicle company, MAN had offered $12.2. It is expected that MAN will come back with another offer.
