Cemex plans investment spree in Asia

Article Abstract:

Mexican cement producer Cemex SA is planning to invest $2.5 billion in Asian acquisitions next year to increase its market share in the region, which currently is only 4% in India and Southeast Asia. Last year Cemex had revenues of $5.6 billion, with less than 5% of that revenue from Asia.

Mexico's Cemex to take $300 million stake in TPI Polene

Article Abstract:

Cemex S.A. of Mexico is set to invest $300 million in cement company TPI Polene PCL of Thailand, giving it a 73% stake in the firm. However, the Cemex plan for dealing with TPI Polene's outstanding debts is angering creditors and may cause the acquisition to be called off.

Mexico's Cemex expandss in Asia to cement growth of exports

Article Abstract:

Cemex S.A. plans to expand its presence in Asia by increasing its annual exports to region. In addition, the Mexican company is also considering the establishment of several cement plants in Asia. Although Cemex officials refused to disclose its exact plans, they did name Indonesia, China, Malaysia and the Philippines as possible sites for the proposed facilities. Cemex may build the plants on its own or acquire existing facilities and development them.
