Micron, Nanya plan to cooperate on design of chips

US-based Micron Technology Inc. and Taiwan's Nanya Technology Corp. are establishing a joint venture to coordinate technology development, focusing on dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) chips. Financial details were not disclosed. Micron is the largest DRAM manufacturer in the US by revenue, while Nanya is the second-largest producer in Taiwan.

Intel, STMicro form a venture: tie-up shows pressures on flash-chip makers for wireless market

Article Abstract:

Switzerland's STMicroelectronics N.V. and U.S.-based Intel Corp. have entered into a joint venture to produce to combine their flash-memory chip operations. Intel will receive a 45.1% stake and $432 mil when the deal is closed. STMicro will receive a 48.6% stake with $468 mil.
