Mobile-phone firms address concerns about safety

Nokia Corp., Motorola Inc., and Telefon AD L.M. Ericcson agreed to provide warning labels in all of their mobile phone products about possible health hazards coming from radio waves emitted by the phones.

Nokia's optimistic forecast boost telecom stocks

Nokia Corp. forecasted that it will see continued strong sales growth for its handset products well into the 2003 year. The company expects handset sales to increase 25% to 35% annually through 2003.

Ericsson expects sales of mobile gear to grow little

Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson is forecasting from flat to modest growth in its mobile equipment core operations through the end of 2002. The forecast caused the company's share value to decline.
