More cuts, eventually?

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has reduced interest rates rapidly between Nov 1998 and Feb 1999. The inflation forecast published in the Bank of England's Nov 1998 report has been revised downwards due to forecasts for slower growth world wide and weaker domestic demand than forecast. There are problems in making forecasts and there are particular difficulties in interpreting labor market data. The Bank of England's deputy governor, Mervyn King, argues that events could push rates either way. though most forecasts are for the bank of cut rates again.
