Motivating devoted workers

Article Abstract:

Inefficiency may result when increased effort by a worker induces an employer to reduce its use of other inputs. The behavior of employers who anticipate the devoted effort of their workers and the behavior of workers when they anticipate that increased effort can induce the employer to reduce its spending on inputs is examined.

Barter for price discrimination

Article Abstract:

A study on barter as a discriminatory instrument in oligopoly with asymmetric information is undertaken. Sellers, that are producers of inputs use barter as a screening device and buyers that are producers of final goods differ in the quality of their products.

A model of collusion timing

Article Abstract:

A dynamic model of collusion, affording a substantial role to entry is developed. Motivated by the details of collusion in the lysine market, the collusive agreement adopted is a rule of thumb.
