NORWAY:SCHOYEN GRUPPEN ACQUIRES SWEBUS OF SWEDEN

Article Abstract:

Norway's Schoyen Gruppen will buy Sweden's Swebus, which is one of the leading coach companies in the Nordic countries. The purchase sum is DKr2.44bn. The deal also includes the Finnish coach company Stagecoach Finland. The seller is the British company Stagecoach. Schoyen Gruppen is also interested in acquiring coach companies in Denmark. According to Schoyen Gruppen managing director Frode Larsen, the acquisition of Swebus is one step on the way towards developing a strong Nordic company for public transports in Europe. Swebus has a 30% market share in Sweden and 10% in Finland.

UK: DANFOSS ACQUIRES WOODLEY ELECTRONICS GROUP

Article Abstract:

The British company Woodley Electronics Group, Wantage, Oxford, has been acquired by the Danish group Danfoss. Woodley, which has 70 employees, will be part of Danfoss' division Automatics, but continue being a separate company. Through the acquisition, Danfoss becomes the leading supplier of electronic surveillance equipment for refrigerating equipment in supermarkets.

SWEDEN: GRUNDFOS ACQUIRES JL PUMP

Article Abstract:

Grundfos AB, the Swedish subsidiary of the Danish group Grundfos, has acquired its competitor JL Pump, Gothenburg. JL Pump, which has 12 employees, is a leading supplier of sewage and bilge pumps in Sweden. Grundfos aims at increasing its market share in Sweden considerably in the next few years.
