Solution to Japan's credit crunch: securitize bad debt

Article Abstract:

The Japanese government would do well to pursue securitized debt, an acknowledged, market-based solution to address the country's economic and financial problems. A market for securitized debt provides an excellent alternative to the official plans aimed at resolving the increasing bad-debt problem and mitigate the existing credit crunch. A securitized-debt market would help check the amount of tax money at risk.
