New UK Rotorcraft Group

Article Abstract:

An Experimental Rotorcraft Group is being created as part of a plan to boost the development and certification of VLH or Very Light Helicopters in the UK. The proposal was developed at a Royal Aeronautical Society Light Helicopter Conference at Cranfield on May 29, 1998. The UK Civil Aviation Authority is concerned about the quality control and manufacturing standards of several audience members who had problems in assembly or during flight in the US. Aerospace design engineer Julian Mills initiated the Experimental Rotorcraft Group.

London heliport for sale

Article Abstract:

GKN is to sell off the Battersea heliport site in central London, UK, to focus on its core businesses. The company's decision has been criticized by operators and helicopter industry representives. Also, operator representatives noted it is difficult to form a bid because GKN seems to have placed no price on the site. Nevertheless, GKN says it believes that development of the facility would be better handled by an owner who can realize the heliport's potential.
