Global software companies lack appreciation for Asian copycats

Article Abstract:

Software companies are unsympathetic of Asian software pirates and, despite cooperative efforts between companies and local governments, piracy still proliferates in many Asian countries. Contrarians argue that it is a way of leveling the playing field and that software piracy will continue to be an economically viable activity because of the market for such products and the support it gets from locals.
