Visitors will be able to examine the gear, equipment and products of different companies. South African fishing quotas are also discussed.

'Optimism with new quotas' - says union leader

Article Abstract:

Despite the high fuel prices and uncertainty in quotas, Denmark's fishing industry is optimistic about the prospects of the industry as was observed at the DanFish International 2005. The main reason for this optimism is that the vessel quota share plan has been approved by the country's parliament.

South Africa selling abalone cache

South Africa's fisheries department is planning to sell approximately 200 tons of abalone it confiscated from the poachers. The stock is estimated to be worth $6.3 million.
