New tricks for old cards

Article Abstract:

Banks are expanding their affinity card programs to have access to new potential customers. Affinity cards, which help raise funds for worthy organizations, do not only offer the potential of direct marketing, but also provide banks with good public relations. On the other hand, consumers benefit also because there are no costs for cardholders except for the usual fees for credit cards. In addition, affinity cards provide a practical way to donate to an organization as well as a certain prestige.
