Nicholas Banszky: RMB International

Article Abstract:

The vast majority of South Africa's leading companies are considering making purchases outside their national market, according to RMB International Managing Director Nicholas Banszky. This is why Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) was keen to establish a presence in the UK. RMB has a strong presence in its domestic market, and has been South Africa's largest merger and acquisition bank since 1994. However, it finds that a lot of the value of merger and acquisition work is produced outside South Africa. Banszky will focus on advising South African companies on merger and acquisition opportunities in Europe.

Renaissance man

Article Abstract:

Tim Shacklock is head of corporate finance at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson's UK operations. He says that Dresdner has changed little since the departure of top dealmaker Simon Robertson and David Clementi and is not threatened by the April 1999 departure of utilities expert Richard Morse. He believes that Dresdner Kleinwort Benson has a solid position in the marketplace and reconfirms that it is committed to its two home markets of the UK and Germany.
