Accountancy firms look East

Article Abstract:

UK accountancy firms involved in the continental European buyout market are particularly attracted to Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Demands on UK accountancy firms in the buyout market have evolved as that market has begun to reach maturity, and accounting firms will now be more active at an earlier stage in the development of the continental European market. Accountancy firms generally plan to move their buyout expertise to mainland Europe, and hope to play a significant role there.

City firms face new dawn and their biggest challenge

Article Abstract:

Top law firms in the City of London are now starting to face very strong competition in the merger and acquisition market. This is particularly the case since leading accounting firms have made moves to provide legal services. Some observers feel that there is growing client demand for an all-embracing service of this kind, while others are less certain. Many US law firms are also seeking to establish a presence in the UK, but domestic law firms do not yet regard this as a strong threat.
