DoubleClick likely will be broken up

Article Abstract:

Online advertising company DoubleClick Inc. has retained investment bank Lazard Freres to help it find a buyer. The company, which thrived during the late 1990s and encountered trouble when the Internet boom subsided, has since diversified its business and now consists of a combination of operations that will probably not suit any one buyer. Consequently, the likelihood exists that DoubleClick will be broken up and sold piecemeal.
