Norsk Hydro gets an earnings boost from energy prices

Norsk Hydro SA posted an increase in its pretax profits for the 2000 fourth-quarter. The company posted 9.55 billion kroner (1.2 billion euros) in pretax profits for the period, compared to 2.07 billion kroner during the same period in 1999.

Enel net surges on asset sales and hydro arm

Enel S.p.A. posted a rise in its net profit for the 2003 first quarter. The company's quarterly net profits increased threefold to 864 million euros thanks to asset sales and hydroelectric operations.

Overseas operations help EDP offset loss from power grid
