Norway to mandate employer pensions

Article Abstract:

Pension contributions by employers for employee compensation has become mandatory in Norway. New legislation transfers partial responsibility from the state to the employer for employee pension contributions. It is estimated the Norwegian employee pension market will have grown to approximately $30 billion to $38 billion by 2020.

EU to improve bloc cooperation on financial laws

Article Abstract:

Finance ministers at the European Union have agreed to increase economic cooperation among member nations, but opposed a proposal by Italian officials for implementing common rules, as such rules may not work for larger financial institutions. Pressure to improve cooperation has been fostered by the recent credit market crisis.

France's rules on workweek caps to be rolled back

Article Abstract:

France, in a move to increase economic growth, is amending the 35 hours per week cap on work hours. The new regulations will allow employees to increase their maximum overtime hours and also allow them to barter some of their time off for overtime pay.
