Norway to mandate employer pensions

Pension contributions by employers for employee compensation has become mandatory in Norway. New legislation transfers partial responsibility from the state to the employer for employee pension contributions. It is estimated the Norwegian employee pension market will have grown to approximately $30 billion to $38 billion by 2020.

Finance ministers at the European Union have agreed to increase economic cooperation among member nations, but opposed a proposal by Italian officials for implementing common rules, as such rules may not work for larger financial institutions. France's rules on workweek caps to be rolled back

France, in a move to increase economic growth, is amending the 35 hours per week cap on work hours. The new regulations will allow employees to increase their maximum overtime hours and also allow them to barter some of their time off for overtime pay.
