Not a sporty sort of town

Article Abstract:

Hong Kong may have its best shot ever at an Olympic medal in 1996, thanks to the best squad it has yet fielded and the cloudy prospects for competition under Chinese rule after June 30, 1997. Though the arts and sports have never held favor as a route to success in Hong Kong, and as a small territory it has trouble competing with large nations, it is sending to Atlanta athletes in windsurfing, table tennis, swimming, shooting, badminton, rowing, and cycling. Windsurfer Lee Lai-shan may have the best shot at a medal.
