Roche's net beat expectations on strong drug sales in half

Roche Holding AG posted better-than-expected earnings for the first half due to strong drug sales, but announced that profit for the year would probably be flat. The company's net income for the six months was 2.99 billion Swiss francs (Euro1.97 billion) versus 2.98 billion francs for the same period a year earlier.
