Novatek offer lures investors back to Russia

Article Abstract:

The success of OAO Novatek's initial public offering is discussed with an eye to the willingness among foreign investors to risk involvement in a Russian company following losses incurred from investments in OAO Yukos. Novatek, Russia's largest independent gas company, was listed on the London stock exchange, and received top-price for its shares.

Suez net climbs on pricing gains; eyes GdF tie-up

Article Abstract:

Full-year 2007 net profit for Belgian-French utility Suez S.A. rose 8.8% to $5.8 bil, due in part to higher prices for electricity, while revenue increased 7.2%. Suez also announced that it will complete its tie-up with Gaz de France within the first half of 2008.
