ICICI Ltd plans to position itself as a universal bank. Its logo has orange denoting warmth and dynamism. The logo has given a friendly outlook for the bank. It stands for trust and responsibility also. The brand building started 10 years back and the financial institution (FI) wants to be the preferred brand for total financial and banking solutions for corporates and individuals. The FI's name has been changed from Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India to ICICI Ltd to associate the new image with potential. It has a total income of Rs5,780.68 crore. It plans to have a retail presence in 300 cities by 2003 AD. ICICI has a presence in 60 cities now. Its focus is to make the retail customers money grow. It has asked cartoonist RK Laxman to create a spokesperson for ICICI, to educate the common man about his own money. (rk)

Faegre & Benson, a law firm based in Minneapolis, MN, and Hobson Audley Hopkins & Wood, a law firm based in London, United Kingdom, has formed a multinational partnership, Faegre Benson Hobson Audley in August 1997. The merger came after a long-time working relationship among selected lawyers from both firms in an attempt to overcome the cultural, professional and other differences that would otherwise be a hindrance to the cooperation between the two firms. The working association of the two companies have identified each other's distinctive strengths paving the way to a complementary relationship.

The proposal should combine the vision of the business with the fundamental elements that would keep the company operating on a day to day basis. Among the critical components of the proposal are information on foreign supplier base, currency fluctuations, import/export laws and a pro-forma statement.
