Oil's rally on bombings reveals a shaky market

Article Abstract:

The price of crude oil and its economic effects are discussed. Bombings carried out by Islamic extremists in Saudi Arabia are seen as causing a surge in oil prices. Though crude oil costs have come down from highs of more than $55 a barrel reached in October 2004, economists warn that prices will rise again.

Crude-oil futures prices end higher, but off intraday peak

Article Abstract:

Crude-oil futures increased during July 3, 2003 session as a result of hopes that an oil strike in Nigeria will end in the near future. Oil prices rose in London and in New York on news of the four-day strike's looming end.

OPEC tries to shift blame for high prices

Leaders of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries met in Vienna on September 2. They indicated that at least part of the blame for high prices could be the taxes imposed by consumer governments.
