Czech Republic: Czech exports to Latin America are decreasing. Only 0.6% of the total Czech exports were represented by exports to Latin America in 2000. The share of Czech imports from the region is stagnating. Imports from Latin America represented 12% of total Czech imports in 2000. The trade balance of the Czech Republic with Latin America is passive. Trade with Latin America resulted in a debit of USD 128.7 mil in 2000. Czech exports to Latin America generated USD 167.7 mil and Czech imports from the territory USD 464.1 mil in 2000.

Peguform Bohemia (PB) (Liberec, Czech Republic), plastic products company, will modernize its plant in Liberec at a cost of more than CEK 200 mil. The modernization will start in 2001 and will include the construction of new CEK 140 mil halls and the installation of modern CEK 70 mil technologies.
