PIA to lok into alleged FSAVC mis-selling

Article Abstract:

The PIA (Personal Investment Authority) has been called in to investigate allegations made by Sainsbury's, the Civil Aviation Authority and Courtaulds concerning the selling of FSAVC's (free-standing additional voluntary contribution). The afore mentioned companies have expressed concerns that members are being mis-sold FSAVC's by insurers and IFA's when an in-house AVC is an option. So far the PIA's investigation has revealed no evidence of mis-selling.

The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld a complaint against the IFA software supplier AssureSoft about a misleading offer for free shares.
