Pace Micro Technologies posts loss for latest year amid flagging sales

Article Abstract:

Pace Micro Technologies PLC reported a pretax loss of 12.1 million British pounds sterling ($20.1 million) for the fiscal year ended May 30, 1998, compared to the profit of 18.4 million British pounds sterling that was generated a year ago. The year-end results came amid declining sales experienced by the U.K.-based manufacturer of satellite and cable television decoders. Included in the profit-loss statement were the 12.3 million British pounds sterling allotted for restructuring costs. Pace said that in the absence of these costs, a profit of 300,000 British pounds sterling could have been made for the year.
