Parker does not manufacture pencils

Article Abstract:

Parker Hannifin (Cleveland, Ohio, US), pneumatic and hydraulic drive manufacturer, commissioned a new plant in Chomutov, the Czech Republic, in 2001. This plant also includes a production part, a turning house. Only few input materials for the plant come from the Czech Republic. In 1998 the firm built a CEK 120 mil plant in Sadska, the Czech Republic. The plant supplies assembled sets, which are made in 600 variants, to Giesen, Germany. The sets are further distributed from Germany to consumers including Volvo, M.A.N., John Deere and others.

Zeleznobrodske Sklo has a new owner

Article Abstract:

Zeleznobrodske sklo (ZBS) (Zelezny Brod, Czech Republic), artificial jewellery manufacturer, had a majority stake acquired by a new owner in Mar 2001. The owner is Bijou Terra (BT) (Czech Republic), which arranged a purchasing contract on the sale of a 89.2% stake in ZBS with the National Property Fund of the Czech Republic. BT will pay CEK 280.6 mil for the stake in ZBS.

MSA (Dolni Benesov, Czech Republic), fittings manufacturer, became a subject of the interest of Zy-Tech Global (US), formerly Zidell, in 2001. In case of entrance to MSA, Zy-Tech Global could acquire a 10-30% stake in the firm. A tender for the sale of shares in MSA, in which further firms are interested, should be organized in the midle of 2001.
